So today one of my best friends moved from California (just down the street from me) to Arizona. Kinda sucks, but I am super happy for her! She is going to have such amazing adventures there and she will meet so many amazing people! I am so grateful for her and for everything she has done. She has been there for me through the hard times and the good times. She helped me with boys, with school, drama, and just life.
This got me thinking about friends in general. People come into our lives for various reasons. And sometimes they are only there for a short time.

I can still remember one of my old friends from college. Her name was Alyssa. I met her my first semester at college.
We were roommates.
We hit it off so well and we did everything together.
About our 3rd semester together, over the summer break something weird happened.
She texted me this long weird text at about 1 am basically stating that our friendship was over and that it wasn’t me.
She blocked my number and blocked me on facebook.
I had no contact with her.
I was heartbroken. I didn’t understand what had happened.
I was upset and confused.
Looking back I realized that maybe she was only needed in my life to help me adjust to college life. She helped me get out of my comfort zone a little bit.

And then there is my friend who is moving to Arizona who has been my friend since I was in the first grade. And she is still my good friend.

Sometimes we don’t know why people come and go into our lives, but we should cherish each moment and not stress too much when they leave.
But it goes the other way too.
We are put into other people’s lives for particular reasons as well.
So we should always be willing to…
- and take care of those around us
God puts people on our path for a reason. May we open our eyes to those experiences.
And can I just add…never be afraid to let someone know if they have helped you or made a difference. It is always nice to hear!
Cherish your friends. And learn to be that friend to others.
“Today will never come again.
Be a blessing.
Be a friend.
Take time to care.
Let your words heal, and not wound”
