Heart pounded.

A heavy sigh left my chest.

But then pure terror again.

That could have been it. My life could have been changed forever.

I was on my way home today from a goodbye party that some of the parent’s from work had for us as a last hoorah.

I was traveling on the freeway.

Things were going pretty fast, until the last few miles when things started to slow down a bit.

I was in the far right hand lane.

When all of a sudden the car in front of me slams on his breaks.

I realized the sudden stop, and immediately slammed on my breaks while at the same time thinking if I should try to swerve to another lane.

Luckily I stopped just in time. And I literally mean, just in time!

My heart pounded.

A heavy sigh left my chest.

I thought to myself, “thank goodness. I’m okay. No accident.”

But then pure terror again.

I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a truck coming at me quickly.

I realized that just because I had stopped in time, didn’t mean I was safe yet.

I sat there and watched in my mirror as there was no where I could go in time.

The truck at the last second swerved to the right on the shoulder.

Thank goodness I thought.

But then the next car was coming quickly at me and again, at the last second they swerved to the shoulder.

Thank goodness I thought.

And then yet again, another car was coming quickly behind me and again, at the last second they swerved to the shoulder.

The next cars after that were able to stop in time behind me but it was a mess.

A big zig-zag line of cars behind me.

I had one more exit to go, but after that scary incident I decided to just get off.

I have no idea how I was not hit.

It all happened so fast.

But God blessed me again and let me walk away without any scratches on me or the car.

As soon as it happened, I thanked God for sparing me.

And when I got home I formally thanked God again for sparing my life.

It is scary to think that your life could be over in a single moment.

How one minute you are laughing and happy and the next minute you could be gone. Or seriously injured.

I have no words to express how grateful I am that I walked away from that.

I know there are some people that haven’t been so lucky.

This week I have felt an overwhelming amount of love from God.

From Him giving me the opportunity to help watch one of my students for some extra money until August, to having another parent want help once a week, to now saving my life from a serious car accident.

I have gone from feeling completely lost and hopeless with what would happen next in my life, to feeling grateful, overwhelmed and blessed. I just had to wait until the last moment to experience it. I had to wait it out – patience.

Have you ever had an experience where you felt like God protected you? Or a time in your life where you truly felt blessed? I would love to hear about it!

Oh my goodness, I’m glad that you are safe; it’s always a heightened danger whenever there are multiple drivers behind you in an accident!

I ended up in a car accident a couple years ago whenever I was traveling back to my university. It was absolutely pouring down rain that day! There was a trailer in the right lane, I was in the left, the road was at a downward slope. Apparently the distance from the trailer and my car [my car also had the sun shields on the side of the windows], but I felt my steering wheel just jerk to the right, I hydroplaned and hit the guard rail head on!

My car was totaled, I was bruised at my hips from wearing my seatbelt [Thanking God!] and I left with my life.

I never imagined that could happen to me, until it did. If I weren’t wearing my seatbelt, I don’t think I’d be here!

Again, I’m super glad you and the rest of the people are safe!

I also like your signature 😀 it looks neater than mine!

Oh my goodness! That is so scary! I am so glad you are okay too! And amazing that you only got bruised and nothing worse!
And thank you! Haha! I’m not a huge fan of my name in cursive cuz it’s so boring because it’s a lot of the same letters.
