So today we took my niece to the mall where they have the carousel. Man, since not many people go on that, the ride lasted forever! We definitely got our money worth!! It just kept going and going and going.
We also got a sample from See’s Candies because, why not!?!
We walked around the mall and my niece got to play in the little kid area.
We then tried walking over to Santa. She loved him from a distance but would not let us get close haha! She tried telling us that she did sit on his lap – but she did not. Haha!
After lunch we went and played at the park for a bit – which I hadn’t been to in a long time. I guess it’s because I’m kind of an adult now hahaha. Also, I started thinking about this while at the park – how did people become so mean and selfish?? Like at what point in our lives do we make that shift? So let me explain. At the park my niece immediately runs up to another girl who is 2 1/2 years old and she waves at her and says hiiiiii. They hit it off. They want to play together. But somehow as we get older we purposefully avoid eye contact with others, we play on our phones, and I don’t know, we just keep to ourselves and worry about ourselves. I thought it was the cutest thing that it was sooo easy for a 2 year old to say hi to someone she didn’t even know. What a life lesson taught to me! I need to be more aware, more kind, more child like and friendly with others. It is something that is disappearing in the world.
Needless to say, with a 2 year old around you are always on the go, and always tired.
- I would say the tender mercy today is that I was pretty productive and busy (not much time to sit and relax when you have a two year old).
- And I would say the other tender mercy was when my niece was sleeping and I just hung out with my sister and watched YouTube videos. I know that may sound totally lame, but honestly it was a lot of fun. We were joking, and laughing and just watching all these crazy things. It was great.
Overall, not a bad way to spend my Monday. 😊
